​ELIJAH AND HIS SWEET FAMILY'S STORY

The Raab family has endured unimaginable heartbreak and challenges over the past two years. In August 2023, Rebekah Raab lost her husband, Nathaniel, to a rare blood disorder, leaving her to navigate life as a widow while five months pregnant with their second son, Arlo. Just months later, Bekah’s world was shaken again when her oldest son, Elijah, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma—a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer. 

Elijah just recently turned four years old and has been bravely fighting. He was recently hospitalized at Riley Hospital for two months undergoing intense chemotherapy treatments and has just returned home. His 18-month treatment plan includes two stem cell transplants, scheduled for August, each requiring a hospital stay of approximately 4–6 weeks. 

As you can imagine, this journey has placed an enormous emotional and financial burden on Bekah and her two young boys. In addition to the medical expenses and daily living costs, Bekah—who is a dedicated Special Education teacher at Whiteland Community High School, and now the sole provider to her boys—has had to take a leave of absence from her job in order to be by Elijah’s side full-time. The loss of her income as a single mom has significantly added to her family’s financial strain.

UpLift was honored to come alongside the Raab family during this difficult time. Our goal was to raise $50,000 to shoulder the family’s expenses so she could focus fully on Elijah’s care and her family’s well-being. Every donation, no matter the size, made a difference. We raised over $100,000 for the Raab family. Most importantly, we continue to ask for your prayers for strength, healing, and peace for Bekah, Elijah, and Arlo as they walk through this challenging season.
